It was a beautiful, quintessential southern California day for Glenda and Raphi’s wedding at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda; skies were blue, temps were balmy, the sun shone, and everything was picture perfect! Even the government shutdown couldn’t put a damper on this event (and thank goodness functions at the Library are run separately from the governmental aspects of the place, or else this would be a different story entirely!)! The wedding was pure elegance, from the lavish cocktail spread of exotic fruits to the towering centerpieces. After a romantic first look, Glenda and Raphi had tisch and bedeken ceremonies, the traditional groom’s reception and veiling of the bride in Jewish weddings. I have never had such an exuberant crowd; Raphi was literally danced down the hall to veil his lovely bride. After a stunning sunset ceremony in front of the reflecting pool, I encountered the most energetic hora I’ve ever been witness to. The fun continued all night on a raucous dance floor. Every detail was amazing and I was thrilled to be there to capture it for this wonderful couple! Take a peek for yourself:
Venue: Nixon Presidential Library
Catering: Blueberry Hill
Florist: Punch Kuny
Band: Spotlight Music
Megan and Kyle had a beautiful day and my good friend and colleague, Erica, was there to capture it for Julie Sterling Photography. Just look at these two, so in love! I can’t wait to share more soon.

Congratulations to Jen and Rich who got married at the gorgeous Victorian in my hometown of Santa Monica, California! It was so much fun to meet up with you two in Boston for your engagement shoot and then in sunny SoCal for the big day! Many more photos to come …
I am so so so so SO thrilled that Tricia and Phil’s wedding is up on Style Me Pretty today! These two are the biggest sweethearts and put so much into their wedding day – everyone deserves to share in the love! Enjoy!
What to do when mama needs head shots for a new job and baby is too cute not to photograph? Take care of them both in one afternoon, I say! Baby Sophie is such a cutie pie at five months old, and mama got some portraits done, too, as well as some of the two of them together. Sophie started out all casual as she had just woken up from her nap. Chewing Dad’s hands is one of her favorite activities:
She then got all gussied up to match mama! Her other favorite thing: eating her feet!
We are very good friends with this family and this was the last photoshoot I did before leaving Boston – so sad! But we will be reunited with Sophie, sister Chloe, and many other friends on a trip to Italy this summer, so there is that to look forward to! Until then, stay adorable, Sophie! I don’t think you’ll have a problem doing just that … you are too cute for words!
I am so excited to share that Sara and Evan’s classic, elegant, urban Des Moines wedding is featured on Brides.com! I know their stunning event will inspire many readers.
Congrats, Evan and Sara!
I recently got to return to a wonderful Boston venue for another intimate dinner wedding, which is what XV Beacon Hotel and Mooo Restaurant do best! Melissa and Dan invited their families to watch them tie the knot in Mooo’s gorgeous wine cellar. Melissa rocked an awesome cocktail wedding dress by Herve Leger and we got to do a fun photo session of the couple before their ceremony and party. With her fiery red hair and the love these two obviously share, it was a pleasure to photograph this couple! What a stylish night overall!

Spring is in the air, and love with it! After the horrible events in Boston on Marathon Monday, we all need a little more love in our lives. I know I hugged my family closer than ever after that day.
Megan and Kyle’s love is palpable in these photos. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with them, traipsing around their stomping grounds in Quincy Center. We visited the Thomas Crane Public Library (love that old stone!), random doorsteps, the gorgeous blooming trees outside of city hall, and more stairs by the T station. There is so much to use photographically in such a short radius; I’m super-excited that their wedding will be in the same neighborhood!
We laughed that their children won’t know what these things they’re talking into are … we were pretty surprised to find operational phone booths ourselves!
Thank you, Megan and Kyle, for a fun day! You two are so sweet and I had such a good time with you!
As you may know, I am about to have a baby (see my prego progression here)! It is an incredibly exciting time and one I love capturing and sharing with images for others. My due date is TOMORROW, and I had been thinking of getting my own maternity photos done professionally for quite some time … I always talk about and truly believe that it is so important to celebrate these fleeting and essential life experiences, so I should do my own, too, right? So I called up one of my very best friends and one of the most talented photographers I know, Tara Lynn Sen, and we set out last Saturday for a pre-baby celebrations shoot!
We froze our patooties off tramping around Larz Anderson Park in Brookline in February, but it was totally and completely worth it! I know my husband and I will cherish these photographs forever (and that he is an incredibly good sport to put up with me and my wardrobe selections for him …). While I do not recommend waiting until the week of your due date to have maternity photographs taken (too risky!), I wholeheartedly recommend the experience!
All photographs are by the incomparable Tara Lynn Sen. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you!
More baby news to come … soon!
